Dear readers,
Some of you might remember that I posted about antiques dealer Didier Abbeloos earlier this year (here).
This Belgian antiques dealer is known for the exceptional variety of eclectic and quirky antiques and collectables he has to offer. Behind the façade of a former mayor residence in Schellebelle-Belgium, you will find a superb collection of antique treasures form East and West.
Today I am not going into detail about all the gorgeous antiques Didier has to offer, as this article would be too extended! I highly recommend you to visit Didier’s gallery in Belgium or to pop over to his website to discover his collection.
As the Winter Exhibition currently runs at Didier Abbeloos gallery, yesterday I paid our Belgian antiques dealer a visit. I really was intimidated by all the gorgeous and beautifully decorated rooms I was walking through. I so enjoyed the atmosphere Didier had created in his gallery that I couldn’t resist to share some pictures with you!
Enjoy!
The living room decorated in tones of green do cause a ‘wow’ effect. In love with the green slipcovered sofa flanked by those exceptional vintage lamps.
The coffee table decorated with Chinese Han vases.
I could have spent hours sitting at the fireplace, surrounded by the exquisite collection of decorative antique pieces.
I couldn’t get enough of this slipcovered sofa with its daring poison green fabric.
One of my favourite furniture pieces was this French walnut cabinet on a metal stand.
Visiting the gallery in the late afternoon, it was getting darker outside and at the moment I entered the orangery, it started to snow! First day of snow here in Belgium! Magical!
What is not to love here at the beautiful decorated orangery with view into the garden?!
Illuminating in the right way creates a most cozy atmosphere.
Don’t you love that small chandelier hanging close to the window?
Gorgeous setting.
Five months old Golden Retriever Blanca anxiously guarded the floating ‘Shepherds Place’ chair. I might suppose that this is her favourite chair throughout the house!
View to the snowy garden.
Hallway with silver plates and candlesticks displayed on an antique console table. The contemporary art on the walls pairs well with the antique furniture and accessories.
Again here one of Didier’s vintage 60’s floorlamps.
One of the rooms with a more quirky and whimsical colour palette.
A pair of Chinese chairs in the entry hall.
Exceptional pair of Han vases with orange-brown patina.
A set of alabaster grapes.
Another one of the gallery’s rooms showing a more subdued colour palette.
Love the wing chair here.
I do hope you enjoyed this tour at Didier Abbeloos Gallery.
