A few days ago I showed you some images of our outbuilding , just before placing the roof.
Well, today the thatched roof is finished.
Before
During…
during…
…during.
After.
Do you like it?
So as now we have to start flooring, a couple of days ago, my husband and I went to the supplier of beautiful recuperation stone.
The blue stone we have chosen has a french origine! He’s very beautiful and…. heavy as you can see on the image here below!
My husband and the supplier.
The stone is yet delivered and you can see him in front of the outbuilding.
So up to the following images of the placed floor ( I think that it won’t be that soon…) !

Do I like it? No.
Do I love it? Yes. Yes!
Can I borrow your husband? I need a little building like this.
I don't think I would ever leave.
Can't wait to see the floor. I'll try to be patient.

Wow, it's beautiful! I love it! Can't wait to see more!
Dearest Greet, your outbuilding is amazing! I love, love, love that roof!!! Thatched roofs are the prettiest rooves in the world, and with a stone floor it will be nicer than my house! Heehee… No, I am kidding, but it will be wonderful and like Brooke, I don't think I would ever leave it. It is going to be very charming, I just know it.
Thank you for your dear comments on my grands, I love them so much it hurts sometimes. I especially hurt over the littlest ones, they live 3,000 miles away. I have alot of fun with the older two, they come over and I jog along beside them as they ride their bikes. Jonathan, the 7 year old thinks it is so amazing that his grama can run! I am so glad you enjoy my blog, you truly feel the essence of what I want to convey through my blog. Hugs, Cindy S
Thatched roof is beautiful, though I am unfamiliar with them. Do they mold? How long do they last before they have to be re-thatched?
It's beautiful–can't wait to see it with the flooring completed.
Janean,
Thank you for your comment!
The thatched roofs don't mould, they only change a bit from colour because of the sun. But that is the good thing on it! By coming a little bit more gray, they give the feeling of being there for a long time! And that is charming!
They last about 50 till 60 years before they have to be re-thatched.

Great blog!!

Hi Greet!!
I am not sure what an outbuilding is, but it looks great!! I loved seeing the before and after. Is this on your property?? I sound like an idioit!! 😉
I saw you on blogs for Three or more Tuesday and thought you were in it. You have a wonderful blog. I'll visit again to see what is up with the outbuilding and read more of your decorating adventures!! 🙂

I am so jealous I can't see straight.
It's lovely. May you enjoy it for a very, very long time.
Keep giving us updates!
I really like the thatched roof 🙂 I also really like the shape of your outbuilding — it's very unique 🙂
It's always interesting to see how architecture and building techniques vary in different parts of the world 🙂
I think the stone you've selected for the floor is beautiful — looking forward to seeing it installed 🙂

Hello, I had to leave a comment for you because you have such an incredible blog with an eye-catching and creative header shot! Beautiful pictures and writing; I've been really absorbed reading your posts. Thank you for sharing them and best wishes….
The roof looks so lovely…
You've asked from what country I'm from in your comment on my blog … I'm from the Philippines.
Hi again, Greet,
Thanks for the explaination of the outbuilding. This is an ingenious idea and we should have them here too, because we love to BBQ, even in the spring & fall when it is chilly. I can't wait to see it when it is finished. And the inside too!!
Three Or More Tuesday is an event on Tuesdays where you can post and show pictures of three or more things, for example, you could have posted the three (or more) steps or pictures of your outbuilding going up. Or in my case, I posted 3 items I bought at a yard sale. You could post pictures of your cats or dogs or children or vacation pictures, anything 3 or more. It really can be anything. If you want to join, on Monday night or Tuesday morning , click on the highlighted blog (Tam's) that you see on my post and she will have a list of everyone in the event. Add your name and blog address. Do your post BEFORE you add your name. After you do your post, go to Tam's and click on each person in the event and visit their blog and leave a coment. They will coma and visit you too!! You meet people you will like to follow and many will like your blog and follow you too. If you would like to know of some of the events we have, let me know. They are much fun, but it is a lot of work visiting everyone participating. You just do the best you can!
Sorry for this long comment!! lol!! Let me know if you have questions!! How is the weather there by you?? It has been raining 2 days straight here. Great for the garden but makes me a tad gloomy!! Enjoy the rest of your week, Greet (love your name!)
xoxo

Oh this is beautiful~~~ I love the thatched roof,
I plan an outbuilding soon too. But it will never be as beautiful as the one you have built.
I will forward your Blog to my daughter, 'a lifes design',
she will want to see your Country outbuilding and your beautiful Blog. I look forward to seeing it when you finish.
LOL @ Velvet and Linen's "Do I like it? No. Do I love it? Yes. Yes!" And I agree with you; thatched roofs are still a lovely thing to see and do! Good thing you were able to see them finishing the roof. 🙂
