This morning a load of beautiful French oak arrived at our working places. Jan loves to search for the most perfect wood required for our interior projects. We only accept the highest level quality of the wood we use for our projects. We really need to have the most beautiful wood for our paneling.
Wood, and especially French oak, is a precious wood to work with. And what a wonderful smell it has!
Here you can see some pictures of the French oak which arrived this morning.
By posting some of the project sketches you will get a glimpse of the projects we are working on at this moment and for which the arrived French oak is required.
Sketches of a library with oak cabinets, paneling and interior doors.
A sketch of a vestiaire placard in an entry hall.
Sketches of a typical Belgian kitchen.
Oak boarded kitchen cabinets and drawers.
Oak boarded cabinet door next to a steel double door.
Our clients must still choose the finish of the wood. But they still have some time because we only have to know their definitive choice when the execution of the project is finished and ready to be stained.
On the picture here below you can see 3 different finishes of grey stained oak wood which could be very beautiful for the kitchen project.

So now you might have an idea of the projects I am working on!
I wish you a wonderful week!

Hello Greet,
I can't get over the beautiful paneling in these images…paneling adds a rich and elegant quality to any room…such stately living rooms and libraries….
and it's so good that you and your husband pay such attention to the quality of the wood used in your designs…I'm sure your clients appreciate knowing that you are as attentive as you are…
beautiful projects and images…

I am so excited to see what you are working on. French Oak-Just Lovely, Greet. xxpeggybraswelldesign.com
So gorgeous! A question, how do you go about finishing the lighter french oak? It looks like it is in its natural state, but I'm sure it has some type of finish on it to protect it. We used beeswax on some of our white oak, but it turned the oak yellower. Thank you. Anna at sageabf@mail.com
Ahhh…Greet this post is incredible. Love all the beautiful inspiration and love all the fabulous light and med. shades of wood and paneling, this is a perfect post for me since we
now making decisions on stains, and this is very inspirational. I am going to have my architect take a look here too…he will so enjoy it. Our cabinet maker is also using what is comparable here to French Oak, "white oak" which is the premium oak and even in its natural state its so beautiful!! Lovely post.
Greet, I just love French Oak! Your work is all so beautiful. Thank you for sharing it.

Waar een 'paar planken' al niet toe kunnen leiden! Mooi hoor!
Lieve groet, Ingrid
As a millwork design junkie I have to say I was drooling over your post and the logs you have coming into your shop! Some of the character in the wood I saw reminded me of English Brown Oak. The variety of styles, finishes and effects are a delight to behold! Oak is not a particularly popular wood in the Northeast. It has such strength and character, I'd like to use it more in our projects.
That wood is gorgeous and the photos of your projects are so beautiful! Thanks so much for the chance to see them.
Hugs, Cindy
Greet it is no wonder you are always so busy, you create the most beautiful interiors!

Greet, in talking with a menusier in Nimes, I understood how difficult it has become, how rare and how expensive to find such Oaks–even in France. It is wonderful to see this post as clearly you are doing your best for your clients projects. Bon continuation pour votre equipe et merci!
How beautiful and exciting! Like all your posts, it is a treat for the eyes.

Le bois et surtout le chêne est une matière si noble !
Bonjour Greet,
Superbe blogspot. Vous créez des intérieurs à vie. N'avez vous pas des photos des anciens boiseries créez par votre entreprise avant vous?
A bientôt
Jérôme
Greet I feel like a bright eyed student every time I come here. You share the most amazing things and this post was so educational for me. I learn so much from you always!
Oak is very dear to us in Sweden as well, and I love how it ages.
Beautiful post, as always.
Warm hugs from Wintery Sydney

Greet,
You got love interior design and know about it to actually appreciate a pile of wood. Honestly, if you don't anything about it, it's just a pile of wood, right? But if you love what you do and search for the right way of doing it, you have the wisdom to see beautiful design through that pile of wood, just as you did.
I think this is magnificent and I love oak. I wouldn't know how to build something from it, as you guys do, but oh, my! I can admire your work for hours. Just inspiring!

Reserve de France ® Hardwood flooring receive the upmost attention to detail throughout every step of their creation. We have direct relationships with National forests in France , and giving us access to the highest grade French oak lumber and allowing us to hand select each log that your floor is crafted from. From there, each board of your new floor is hand crafted to a high standard in Reserve de France. Every individual log we use can be traced back to responsibly harvested and verified sources from French sustainable forests. In these certified forests, selective cutting is the manner to harvest logs without destroying the forest. Reserve de France – Producer of Solid and Engineered French Oak Hardwood Flooring ready to lay. The logs are "live sawn" in a horizontal manner only. After cutting, the boards are naturally air dried for 12 to 24 months. Before production into wide planks for flooring, the planks are slowly kiln dried for 30 days for added stability and to bring the moisture content to indoor levels.
