‘A Family Affair’ this is how the story about a Lefèvre Interiors project featured in the latest issue of the Belgian interior design & lifestyle magazine TIJDLOOS, is titled. The story tells about how my sister and I worked together to bring the interior design and decoration of her new build home to a good end.
I do know that a lot of you, my readers, will not be able to understand the Dutch written text. I am so sorry for that! But I do know that on the basis of the pictures, you will be able to follow the story.
COVER OF THE BELGIAN INTERIOR & LIFESTYLE MAGAZINE TIJDLOOS , issue may-june-july 2012
I told you earlier about the photoshoot at my sisters’s home here, when I posted about our Belgian photographer Claude Smekens, who took all of the pictures for this report.
Today, I love to show you a few pages of the featuring.
The text above tells about my sister Inge and me (yes that’s us here) growing up in a family of which father managed an interior design business and of which mother had a wonderful eye for decorating the family home.
‘Sense for beauty and harmony sneaks into your blood, and that is something that Inge & Greet Lefèvre prove over and over again.’, is to read here.
Further on you can read that we both have a similar taste in interior design which I confirm by telling the story about a table I discovered in L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue in France a few years ago and of which I immediately knew that this was the table I wanted to bring into my sister’s home! I made a picture of the table with my cell phone and sent it to Inge. A few minutes later, the table was bought and only a few days later, the table was placed at her home.
Entry hall Text here : ‘ Greet : The atmosphere here reminds me of that of a French country house, casual but always stylish and elegant.’
All kitchen cabinetry and furniture (even the kitchen island stools) are designed by me and all made at the ateliers of Lefèvre Interiors.
Don’t you love the Swedish chairs around the breakfast table? I found them at Swedish Antiques (Antwerp). The blue linen tablecloth is made to measure by Natalie Haegeman (Brasschaat).

Oh Greet, you should see my boxwood garden in the back jardin; yesterday, I pruned the hedges and next week, I will prune the boxwoods in my FRONT gardens. I thought of you.
My home is very similar in décor as yours. The black and white floors, the rustic woods coupled with gray and stone. I so love the feel for it is quite AUTHENTIC and no fuss. Thank you for the inspiration you share with us! Anita
Congratulations Greet to both you and your Sister!! What a gorgeous publication, I am so thrilled for both of you. Love your sister's home, Greet. I remember you writing about the table for her orangerie which you found for her. Really special that you are so close.
While I loved her whole house, I really love her kitchen. No surprise there!

Absolutely lovely! So relaxed and so sophisticated in the simplicity and clarity of the design. The raised fireplace in the breakfast area is brilliant! The last image, the vignette of the chaise is breathtaking! Claude and Magda did a spectacular job capturing the essence of Inge and Dominique's home.
Made my weekend!

John

Hello dear Greet,
You are a super talented lady, I have to say. Your sister's home is so beautiful and I'm sure she is grateful to you for all of the time and creativity that you put into it.
Have a wonderful week, love and hugs, Cindy
Hi Greet – Clearly, you both have fabulous tastes! Inge's home is so stately and beautiful! I love the very tall French doors with the fan transom in the entry hall. And, I love the window cremone hardware….very European. Thank you for sharing with all of us. Merci! Loi
Hi Greet, I've been following your blog for a few months now, but this is the first time I'm commenting 🙂 I love your sister's house and all your work. So beautiful and inspiring! Have a wonderful day.
Greet – Thanks for a lovely post! Your sister's kitchen is lovely, especially the one-of-a-kind barstools. I, too, have a sister who loves interior design. My favorite chair in my living room is one she discovered at an antique show and sent me a picture via cell phone. I love technology…seconds later she was loading my chair in her chair.
I am a faithful reader who rarely comments but ALWAYS enjoys your design and blog posts!
What impeccable taste you both have – absolutely beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing. Paula x
This is just so lovely, Greet. Everyone in your family seems so close and happy. Thank you for sharing all this beauty and talent. Congratulations !!!!
Wowza!!!!! Good design genes in the family indeed!
Tijdloos knew what they were doing when they decided to include you in a prominent feature. Beautiful!
