Falling in love with fall

Falling in love with fall

Fall season is coming our way, evenings are getting chilly already, and before we know it, winter will be there.

But first, let’s enjoy the most beautiful, most colourful and most romantic season of the year.

There are so many reasons why to fall in love with fall!

I don’t feel sad about this seasonal change.

Autumn is a time of releasing and certainly also of harvesting and it is the time of the year where magic reigns. Mystical clouds, beautiful mushrooms, a colourful palette of leaves…. Nature is making a beautiful work of art again.

I just love it when the leaves turn every color, when the cooler weather comes in and when you walk through a cluster of leaves hearing that crinkling sound underneath your shoes. I love to see the changing trees, fading from red to orange, to yellow and brown. Orange and brown are everywhere and I love to see both colours used in fashion and brought into the home. I love to see skies changing from dark grey to radiant blue. I love these days where you still can sit outside with your cable knit sweater or scarf. I do love curling up with a good book close to the crisping fire. I love the smell of steaming coffee or hot chocolate milk and of fresh made pancakes. I love the smell of kitchen ovens and of smoking chimneys. I enjoy the flavors of this season’s vegetables, fruits and spices. I love to walk into the countryside and heading off to a farm house purchasing autumn soup vegetables, or watching the change of flora and fauna having a walk through the woods.

These seasonal changes entail even a change in our rhythm of life, it is a time of letting go, as trees do show us. Autumn is the time of the year to slow down, to find yourself back and to let go all what is superfluous and to gain strength to enter the winter and to blossom again in spring and summer.

As F. Scott Fitzgerald once said ‘Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall’.

.

I loved sharing some pictures today, showing the beauty of fall colours, as it is time to create an inspirational mood board for your autumn home decor. Time to say goodbye to summer by adding cozy autumnal touches to your home.

Enjoy!

A very special thank you to my favourite Belgian photographer Claude Smekens for the gorgeous images he allowed me to post today. If you like to see more photos of Belgian interiors, please pop over to Claude’s brand new website Claude Smekens Photography.

All so true, Greet. You made me think again about autumn. I’ve always liked it but not in the beginning.

And, I am not blogging the way I once did. Photobucket now controls my blog until I pay monthly to what was once free. It is very frustrating. But, instagram helps ease the pain.

It seems like we look forward to summer so much that I am in no rush for it to end. But today is cool and sweaters feel right for the first time in a long time, and the change is welcome after all.
Good luck on the awards! You have my vote!
